This morning I was sharing with a younger family member something about the bible. After our short exchange I gave this more thought.
What are the benefits of reading from and studying from the Bible? I made the following list rather quickly in my head!

It brings to you the inside scoop that only those on the inside know.

The Holy Spirit Will Help!


Invite the Holy Spirit in, each time you open the Bible. Simply say, "come Holy Spirit".

If you are Catholic, you can use the tool of making the sign of the cross, blessing yourself. This act acknowledges the sacrifice that Christ made for us!

The Catholic Mass!

When you attend a Catholic mass, every day there is a reading from the Old Testement, one of the Psalms, and another reading, from the New Testement. Over a three year period, Catholic mass attendance, will bring you a healthy portion of the Bible through these readings.

At each mass, the Priest will read the Gospel reading for that day; and follow it up with what is called the Homily.

That is a talk where (see below) the priest will bring the old testament reading, into the New Testement reading to connect the two; or to explain how they interact, or are related.
