Maytag or G.E. Appliances?!

This is ~~~Nancy!
Not brand new but, new to us! My husband shops and looks frequently at a Habitat ReStore! And he had a great find!
Today I know that a Whirlpool appliance is the same as my favorite, Maytag brand! Whirlpool owns Maytag! Amana is one of their less expensive brand names!
I still love Maytag and my front load washing machine is a Maytag; however I've broadened my thinking when it comes to a G.E. Refrigerator.
That is, when it comes to a G.E. refrigerator as well as a G.E clothes dryer!
This is for two reasons!
In the past 3 years, most all of my 20+ year old household appliances needed to be replaced!
We have been in our current house for 20 years now! All appliances, i.e. water takes; sump pumps etc. will need to be replaced at some point!
When we moved into this house, we assumed a G.E. refrigerator; it was better than the frige that we had - so we just used it!
We came here in 1999 and today, December of 2019, we knew that this frige was going to be on it's very last leg!
It has been good to us, but we knew the time was coming. Well, as I said, my husband found this new frige in a ReStore, and he bought it! for a very good price! It happened to be a G.E.
In fact, it happened to be just like our current G.E. Frige! So he paid for it and came home and told me about it!
While my husband was dismantling the door of our frige to take it out of the house, he came across a date on it!
The newer frige is stamped 2000! So it ought to last us quite some time!
In the years 2008 to 2012, I had been an Appliance Associate in our local Home Depot store; and I'd learned a great deal about appliances!
I was an associate who took a lot of time learning about the products!
I found that among our customers, there were G.E. loyal people and Maytag loyal patrons!
And as I said, I'd been raised to be a Maytag person. But these days, I understand the value of a good G.E. Appliance!
In my laundry room my Front Loading Washing Machine is a Maytag but my newer clothes dryer is a G.E.
My new referigerator is the same width and depth as the old one. However as it happens, it is taller and has more room inside! ~`measure before you buy!
Newer year referigerators have more capacity with less bulk on the outside!
My old '79 refrigerator was an 18 cubic foot and this new one (same width and depth) is a 21 cubic foot!

What Happened?
