On the fourth day I put HP back together, all of her screws were in place,

as well as her new CMOS battery, I placed her battery pack back in;

then the moment of truth!

I plugged her power cord into the wall ~~~

Would HP be alright?

Would she recover? Or would she be disabled for life?

Voila! She was pretty darn normal! She still stunk like that coffee... but, in time, that too would pass.

She ran like a top again.

I think some of her keys were 'sticky' for a bit but --- all in all, she is back to her old self.

And two weeks later, here we sit - back at a Starbucks! She will have to earn my trust again. It will come... I have faith in HP.

However, I'll tell you what I'm doing --- call me co-dependent;

I'm hiding my cup of coffee from HP today: yes, it is - on the seat next to me.

What I've done for my
household, so far, has been to freeze our credit with the three
reporting agencies see article below!

There was a breach in security with the credit

reporting agency, Equifax. One of my family member's information
was actually taken in this breach.

I just don't want to tempt her beyond her control. The poor thing, she can smell the coffee and, as I said above, I think she is jonesing a little bit...

All of this is to be expected. She's been detoxed from the stuff...

But she liked the smell, the taste; and, obviously she liked how it made her feel! So, we will give, time-time.

I hear that this is what it takes. And, possibly some of those 12 step meetings!

Oh, there are other's like her. It might help her to know that she isn't alone.

Some group support, and the fellowship that is there may be just what she needs. As I said, I'll do anything for HP!

Update: HP has recoverd to a great extent: some of her keys are slightly sticky and one of her USB ports doesn't function.

But she is in great spirits! You'd never know she had gone through that entire experience.
