Why I never would have guessed this in a million years!
My son Clyde - a dark brown alley-cat of a sort; who was my feline-child; filled me in on one of the most fascinating bits of trivia on the planet. In my estimation - that is...
Clyde passed away in January of 2008. But about one year before his death he shared a big secret with me.
This secret is kept quiet among the feline community because - well,
if this got out to the rest of the world; it would be a smear on the reputation of all cats.
Most cats fancy themselves as part of the elite among society,
don't-cha-know!
At least that is what I've found.
One day, it was a quiet - dark day in winter and Clyde was snuggled down in the house with me;
[on warm summer days and spring days Clyde mostly stayed outdoors on the prowl]
but this happened to be a cold day in February when Clyde opened up to me about this.
What Clyde shared with me that day - just about knocked my socks off - he just blurted it out.
I don't think that he ever intended to share this, although we were very close.
He just came out and said it!
"Mom - all yellow cats wear purple pajamas, orange socks and blue slippers to bed - but only in the Spring time!"
He said it so quickly and his words interrupted the quiet
so that - I almost jumped out of my seat!
I didn't say a word in response.
Clyde was visibly shaken -
before this time, he was never rattled about anything. Nothing!
This was a big moment and I knew there was nothing that should be said. So I stayed quite...
Every part of me knew - this would be a life-long held secret between Clyde and myself. Coming out with this on this webpage, well, I don't really know what to make of this.
Why am I sharing this with the world? Maybe it will help someone -
maybe this will bring some understanding into the community. At least I hope that it will.
Secrets are never good... they never help things.
